Australia-China Cultural Tourism Education Exchange:
A series of cultural tourism workshops run by James Hutchinson, from Untamed Group were held at three ethnic minority universities in regional China, followed by a student essay competition, where Tourism major students were required to research areas focusing on sustainable cultural tourism development and case studies of Indigneous Australian communities as presented in the workshops. The winning students then took part in a trip to Australia’s Northern Territory to learn more about Australia’s Indigenous culture and cultural tourism industry.
The ten day trip took the students to remote areas of Judburra National Park, led by a group of 25 Traditional Owners and two anthropologists from the Northern Land Council. This project was co-funded by Australia China Council and Ecoguiding Australia. Coordinated by Creative Asia. Learn more.
